Your Face Shape - Oval, Long, Round, Heart and Square - Which Is Yours?

Typically, there are 5 different face shapes. They are Oval, Long, Round, Heart and Square Face shapes. Which one is yours? Let's find out.

To figure out your face shape, you will first need to measure your face. Use a tape measure. Here are the measurements you need.

First, measure across the forehead at the widest area. Write down the measurement.

Secondly, measure the jaw area from one side to the other, at the widest area. Write down the measurement.

Third, measure across the cheekbones. Write down the measurement.

Fourth, measure from the top of the forehead, where the hairline is, to the tip of the chin.

These measurements will help you know which face shape you have.

Before we begin, I want to note that in the salon or hairdressing environment, a stylist should be able to distinguish the different face shapes. The stylist should examine your face before the salon shears are ever used.

Our skin reflects our health and the quality of food that we put into our bodies. Dr. Mitra Ray, Stanford University cell biologist and co-author of "Do you have the guts to be beautiful?" defines beauty as the cells in your body radiating health, and cellular health depends on good nutrition.

It's a surprise to many people but the skin is one of the largest organs of the body and it is also the dumping ground for toxins that the body is not properly processing. To the trained eye, the skin on your face, its wrinkles and spots, can tell you what's going on in your internal organs. It's an ancient art that is still practiced in Chinese medicine as well as other Eastern traditional healing methods.

The good news is that many wrinkles are not really permanent and can be reversed. Often they are simply a sign that your body needs more hydration to plump them out of existence. Sometimes the wrinkles have another message.

If you have horizontal lines across your forehead, it could mean a buildup of waste in the intestines, particularly the colon. Dr. Ray suggests that you get your bowels moving even if it requires a series of enemas in order to erase those very deep lines.

Wonderful Homemade Beauty Products

You will often see that the first thing someone notices about you is your skin. So it is very normal that you have to take proper care of your skin to feel good about yourself. Getting healthy, beautiful skin is not a problem; all you have to do is take care of it on regular basis. In place of brown sugar, you can use salt or granulated sugar. You can use this scrub to slough off dead skin while taking your shower or while in the bath. A glowing complexion from head to toe is guaranteed with this homemade scrub.

Another beauty product that will help you to get glowing skin is a honey mask. A radiant, healthy look is achieved by the usage of honey, which exfoliates as well as tightens the skin pores. Metallica Tee Shirts - A Tribute to the Band

The name Metallica is synonymous with heavy metal and if you ever attended any of the heavy metal concerts you'd see them flooded with the Metallica tee shirts. What better tribute to the band than to sport their tee shirts when at their concerts!

The Metallica band started off from Los Angeles, California, in 1981 with the duo James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. The first Grammy Award nomination that Metallica received was for "Justice for All" in 1989 for the Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance Vocal or Instrument category. Even though Metallica was the expected favorite to win, the award went to another band. This no doubt, created some controversy among the press and fans. Patek Philippe Announces Exciting Developments for 2011

Patek Philippe announced the GyromaxSi balance in gold and Silinvar, the new Silinvar components increase power from 48 to 70 hours. The construction consists of diagonally opposed circular sectors that are made from 24 carat gold and Silinvar. The Silinvar componenet is made from silicon wafers that use the DRIE or deep reactive etching process that is then oxidated. Gold inlays are integrated into the centrifugal masses with a patented Patek Philippe technique. The balance features four small slotted poising weights that are adjusted according to the Gyromax principle which is the variable moment of inertia. This concept was developed by the brand in the 1940's and was patented in 1951; advanced technology has created this successor.

With an unusual hourglass shape, the GyromaxSi balance has several precisely defined properties that include as much inertia and light weight as possible. Conventional designs of balance are created with a full-circle rim held in by spikes shifting the balance wheels mass to the outside reducing its weight. But this design creates friction and losses must then also be minimized in the bearing jewels. The Silinvar structure carries the centrifugal masses at its periphery and the use of 24 carat gold in the balance wheel rim creates a density that is 2.5 times greater than traditional materials and allows for a reduction in volume. Patek's design reduces the mass by nearly two thirds.

Another exciting development at BaselWorld is their 41mm perpetual calendar chronograph done in an 18 carat gold case. This timepiece features interchangeable case backs, one is solid and can be personalized with an engraving of a special event and the other is done in the exhibition style with a sapphire crystal showing its complex movement and elegant finishing. The Ref. 5270 is fitted with a column wheel chronograph movement with the day and month in a double window at 12 o'clock.

There are three sub-dials; the one at 6 o'clock indicates the date around the moon phase. The 30 minute counter is at 3 o'clock and the small seconds counter can be found at 9 o'clock. Leap year is displayed at four thirty and the day/night window is at seven thirty. Movement is hand-wound, CH 29-535 PS Q Calibre. It is water-resistant to 30 meters or 3 ATM. The dial is done in beautiful silver opaline with black oxidized white gold hour markers and hands. The strap is made from matte black and is hand-stitched, square-scale alligator leather with an 18 carat white gold folding clasp. This timepiece is pure opulence and style that any man would enjoy wearing.

Matching Clothes - Cool or Warm Skin Tone?

Are you a cool or warm skin tone?

Determining whether you are a cool or warm skin tone goes a long way to deciding on matching clothes to your complexion. Generally warm skin tones can go for warmer and bold colors and cooler skin tones the more subtle shades when color matching. For a mental image of what you should be looking for in a warm complexion think of a bright day in autumn with a warm red sunset. For people with a cool complexion think of deep cold oceans, icebergs and crisp cloudy skies. Keep these ideas in mind when putting together outfits and matching colors.

Hair color is a good indication of whether you are warm or cool. People with a warm complexion have a noticeably red hue to their hair. Brown with golden blonde highlights are an example. Is your hair Red? Golden blonde? Copper gold? Deep warm brown? If the answer is yes then you are more than likely a warm colored person.

Cool colored people have a much broader color range. Ash Blonde is an example of the lighter shades of hair. Is your hair White Blonde, Dusty Brown, Salt and Pepper, Black (with no red undertones) or Blue Black? If it is you are a cool toned person.

Eye color is the next determiner. As you may have guessed the trends are similar to hair color. People with a warm complexion have golden or brown eyes generally. If you have blue eyes do they have brown or golden flecks? Are they more green-blue or aqua? If yes then guess what... you are a warm colored person.

A cool person's eyes will have no 'golden' or warm tones. Blue eyes with only shades of blue, or flecks of grey are cool. Deep brown eyes with a slightly dusty appearance are also cool. Black eyes or charcoal eyes come under the cool category swell. If you have green eyes do they have white or greyish flecks? If you see any golden or warm coloring at all you might be a warm after all.

Skin color is the last determiner, but it can be very tricky as the sun and age can change the coloring quite dramatically. Generally speaking though your natural skin tone (i.e. the one you were born with) is your true tone. Take a close look at your skin, especially the inside of your wrists. Is your skin peachy, Ivory, golden or warm brown? If you have freckles this is a sign that you are more than likely a warm person. If your skin is very fair is it creamy? If it is dark does it have golden or latte undertones?

A cool skinned person has pink, red and blue undertones. Look at the inside of your wrists, are the veins very blue? Overall the cool complexion has red or silvery characteristics. If you have very light skin it will have a pinkish quality. The majority of Latin, Asian and African people are cool toned people. Look for yellow, red and blue undertones.

So now you know if you are a cool or a warm hued person you can now determine which season you are (Autumn, Summer, Winter or Spring) and which colors to choose when matching clothes and putting together outfits.

Movado Designs for Discerning Watch Lovers

Switzerland has been famous for its watches for over four centuries. The industry began in earnest when French theologian Jean Calvin introduced a series of sweeping reforms aimed at Swiss jewelers and goldsmiths. Precious metals and stones were suddenly off-limits, since unnecessary ornamentation was deemed immodest.

The ban on jewelry put many Swiss artisans out of work. These were men who had spent most of their lives acquiring a trade, only to have it restricted by an expatriate pastor. There was only one thing they could do. No, they didn't go after Calvin. But they did refocus their skills and abilities on a new craft.

Watches and clocks first appeared in the city of Geneva at about the time Calvin arrived. Because they had a purpose or function, i.e., they told time, watches were not considered jewelry. Therefore, the influential pastor didn't seem to have a problem with them. Former goldsmiths and jewelers flocked to this new profession and before long, Geneva was the unofficial world capital of watch-making

Home to the very first watchmakers' guild, the city was so overrun with horologists by the start of the 18th century that many of them choose to relocate to cities in the Swiss Jura Mountains. One of them was a young watchmaker's assistant by the name of Achille Ditesheim.

The boy moved with his family to a small village in the mountains in 1876. Though he was only 14 at the time, Dietsheim knew exactly what he wanted. Just five years later, the young man ran a small watch shop with six full-time employees. As the demand for Swiss timepieces grew, so did his workshop. By 1897, Achille Ditesheim was one of the richest and most respected watchmakers in all of Switzerland.

What was his secret? Like most successful businessmen, Achille Ditesheim was a visionary. He wasn't afraid to take chances and to experiment. His firm was one of the first to use electricity and new machinery in place of simple hand tools. It did, however, take him a long time to give his company a proper name. A quarter of a century after it opened for business, Ditesheim choose the name Movado, an Esperanto word that means "always in motion. "

The company continued to grow until the Quartz Watch Revolution in the 1970s. Like many traditional watchmakers, Movado suffered mightily when the affordable new technology was introduced. Because they still made most of their timepieces by hand, they could not compete with digital watches that were made by machines. The company continued for another decade before it was acquired by one of the world's biggest watchmakers, North American.

Like many new technologies, digital watches lost their luster and appeal after everyone and his brother owned one. Watch lovers began to long for the old days, when timepieces were stylish and they were made to last. A new niche market was established and Movado was one of the key players once again.

That niche market has since grown as luxury and professional watches have come back into fashion. Movado is now bigger than they have ever been. The company recently reported revenues of over half a billion dollars. Their most popular and enduring models have helped define the new market. The Museum Watch

Wash the garment immediately after it is stained as it will become more difficult to remove if allowed to dry. Let it soak in cold water and mild soap for a few minutes before washing. If the stains are too stubborn to remove, you can bring it to a dry cleaner or professional launderer.

You must rinse Thai silk thoroughly with cool water to get rid of soap residue. I see to it that the water is clear of any bubbles or soap before hanging. Don't twist or wring the cloth because this will stretch and ruin it. Just press lightly or use a towel to get most of the water. It is advisable to let the garment dry in a shady area, away from direct sunlight. Actually, I hang all my clothes under the shade, allowing air to dry it. This is because the colors fade faster if dried directly under the sun.

I noticed that ironing it while still damp is great in removing wrinkles. Ironing should be done inside out and must be done with the lowest settings possible to protect the outer layer of the fabric.
