Matching Clothes - Cool or Warm Skin Tone?

Are you a cool or warm skin tone?

Determining whether you are a cool or warm skin tone goes a long way to deciding on matching clothes to your complexion. Generally warm skin tones can go for warmer and bold colors and cooler skin tones the more subtle shades when color matching. For a mental image of what you should be looking for in a warm complexion think of a bright day in autumn with a warm red sunset. For people with a cool complexion think of deep cold oceans, icebergs and crisp cloudy skies. Keep these ideas in mind when putting together outfits and matching colors.

Hair color is a good indication of whether you are warm or cool. People with a warm complexion have a noticeably red hue to their hair. Brown with golden blonde highlights are an example. Is your hair Red? Golden blonde? Copper gold? Deep warm brown? If the answer is yes then you are more than likely a warm colored person.

Cool colored people have a much broader color range. Ash Blonde is an example of the lighter shades of hair. Is your hair White Blonde, Dusty Brown, Salt and Pepper, Black (with no red undertones) or Blue Black? If it is you are a cool toned person.

Eye color is the next determiner. As you may have guessed the trends are similar to hair color. People with a warm complexion have golden or brown eyes generally. If you have blue eyes do they have brown or golden flecks? Are they more green-blue or aqua? If yes then guess what... you are a warm colored person.

A cool person's eyes will have no 'golden' or warm tones. Blue eyes with only shades of blue, or flecks of grey are cool. Deep brown eyes with a slightly dusty appearance are also cool. Black eyes or charcoal eyes come under the cool category swell. If you have green eyes do they have white or greyish flecks? If you see any golden or warm coloring at all you might be a warm after all.

Skin color is the last determiner, but it can be very tricky as the sun and age can change the coloring quite dramatically. Generally speaking though your natural skin tone (i.e. the one you were born with) is your true tone. Take a close look at your skin, especially the inside of your wrists. Is your skin peachy, Ivory, golden or warm brown? If you have freckles this is a sign that you are more than likely a warm person. If your skin is very fair is it creamy? If it is dark does it have golden or latte undertones?

A cool skinned person has pink, red and blue undertones. Look at the inside of your wrists, are the veins very blue? Overall the cool complexion has red or silvery characteristics. If you have very light skin it will have a pinkish quality. The majority of Latin, Asian and African people are cool toned people. Look for yellow, red and blue undertones.

So now you know if you are a cool or a warm hued person you can now determine which season you are (Autumn, Summer, Winter or Spring) and which colors to choose when matching clothes and putting together outfits.

Shopping For Maternity Clothes On a Budget Online And Off!

An expectant mother does not have to max out her credit cards in order to dress well during pregnancy. Although there are clothing stores dedicated to pregnancy and specialty aisles in department stores, finding cute and affordable clothes to wear during pregnancy may mean skipping both of these places.

Most expectant mothers would rather spend their hard earned money on baby items than on maternity clothing. After all, many women will only wear the larger size clothing for the last few months of their pregnancy. The prices of many maternity outfits bought new in specialty and department stores are just as expensive as regular clothing and in some cases actually cost more. For the expectant mother who is shopping on a budget, there are a number of ways she can maintain a stylish and affordable wardrobe.

Borrow from Friends and Relatives
Most veteran mothers are happy to share their old maternity clothing with an expectant mom. Maternity clothes are only worn for a short period of time and are usually kept in excellent condition. Pregnant women should talk to friends and close family member who have had children and who might still have clothes from pregnancy that they would lend out. After an expectant mom is done with the outfits she borrows she can share the gift by passing the clothing onto someone else.

Check Out Consignment Shops
Consignment shops are wonderful places to find cheap maternity clothes. The best places to find clothes for pregnancy are usually shops that focus on kids. Many child consignment stores have a maternity section. Clothing in consignment stores are usually in pristine condition, otherwise the clothes would not be accepted by the store's owner.

Search on eBay
eBay is a great place to look for inexpensive maternity clothes. Often women will sell their clothing in lots so women can purchase multiple outfits at one low price. This type of shopping usually requires making bids and the person who bids the highest within a specified period of time wins.

Use What You Have
Women might be surprised at what they have in their own closet that they will be able to wear during pregnancy. An expectant mother might be able to wear an oversized sweatshirt and t-shirt right through her 9th month.

Borrow From Daddy
When all else fails, a soon-to-be mom can raid her husband or boyfriend's closet for a shirt that she can wear. Men's clothes are super comfortable to wear around the house and an expectant mom might find she enjoys wearing her husband's clothing more than her own.

Simple Tips in Caring For Clothes Made of Thai Silk

It can't be denied that Thai silk is one of the best fabrics and the most sought after silk in the world. Its unique characteristics and excellent quality come from a long tradition of making fabrics - from cultivating silkworms to weaving it by hand.

In order to preserve its distinctive beauty and sheen, you must know how to care for it properly. Although it requires less care compared to other kinds of fabrics, it should be handled with care in order to maintain its natural characteristics and make it last longer.

Let's start with the proper washing. Many manufacturers usually give instructions on how to care for the fabric but not every manufacturer does. It is recommended to have it dry cleaned to preserve its beauty and characteristics. Again this fabric is very delicate, so machine wash is not recommended. However, if machine wash is inevitable, make sure to use cool water and the gentlest cycle setting. It is also best to wash it together with delicate garments.

I never machine wash delicate garments such as made of Thai silk. I prefer washing them by hand because I can control how they are handled. This will also avoid unnecessary stretching of the fabric. If they are not very soiled, only a little effort is exerted in washing and less friction on the fabric.

I also make sure that I use a very mild detergent. I prefer liquid soap because I think they are much gentler. There are a lot of soaps especially made for this purpose, but I like using Woolite and Perwoll. I think they are great in keeping the fabric's characteristics.

If the garment is heavily soiled or has stains, never use bleach as it will ruin the color and fibers. Wash the garment immediately after it is stained as it will become more difficult to remove if allowed to dry. Let it soak in cold water and mild soap for a few minutes before washing. If the stains are too stubborn to remove, you can bring it to a dry cleaner or professional launderer.

You must rinse Thai silk thoroughly with cool water to get rid of soap residue. I see to it that the water is clear of any bubbles or soap before hanging. Don't twist or wring the cloth because this will stretch and ruin it. Just press lightly or use a towel to get most of the water. It is advisable to let the garment dry in a shady area, away from direct sunlight. Actually, I hang all my clothes under the shade, allowing air to dry it. This is because the colors fade faster if dried directly under the sun.

I noticed that ironing it while still damp is great in removing wrinkles. Ironing should be done inside out and must be done with the lowest settings possible to protect the outer layer of the fabric.

Knowing exactly how to care for garments especially made of Thai silk will ensure that it will last for a long time and still look beautiful as new. Give your clothes proper care and love; you will enjoy them in many years to come.
